About

Why are the expectations so high?

You’re supposed to have it all together.

Smart, beautiful, kind, patient, and inspiring – the list goes on and on.

How in the world do you have a career, a great social life, a healthy relationship, a family, AND have time for yourself?

Is it even possible?

Instagram seems to think so.

Scrolling through the feeds just brings a greater sense of discontent with the way everything in your life is going,

The feeling of lack begins to gnaw at your insides.

BALANCE

Ahhhhh… the elusive work-life balance.

It’s stressful just thinking about it!

Perfect mom. Check.

Perfect co-worker or boss. Check.

Perfect wife. Check.

Perfect friend. Check.

What the ….?!

Girls, how can we be all the things at once?

First of all, where did the idea come from that you SHOULD be all the things?

Sorry, sisters, it’s impossible to be all the things 100% of the time.

BUT it is possible to find your way to a place that feels WAY better and WAY more manageable for you.

More like a rhythm than the perfect balance.

You don’t have to be a superhero.

That’s crazy!

You can be you and be happy.

That probably feels like a WAY better option.

Close your eyes.

Imagine yourself as you would like to be.

I bet you look relaxed, at peace, getting things done in a way that doesn’t feel like you’re inside of a tornado.

I bet your skin is glowing, and you feel strong, healthy, and centered. I bet you have a huge smile on your face.

How do you get there?

First, by being honest with yourself. We are just humans after all.

There is no such thing as perfect, and there is no such thing as being stress-free and happy all the time.

Challenges will always come your way, but you don’t have to drown in them. You can embrace them, learn from them, and grow from them.

ABOUT ME

I like to say that curious is my favorite state of mind.

I’m always learning and growing and seeking.

I’m an Austinite by birth but have always had wanderlust. I’ve lived lots of different places, and the path to earning my Doctorate in Psychology helped a lot with that!

Traveling and seeing the world helped me grow in ways that I could have never imagined.

It took me out of my comfort zone (much like therapy does).

It opened my eyes to the amazing differences and similarities of us all. It also led to meeting many wonderful friends and, most importantly, my husband.

On weekends I can likely be found hanging out with my family and friends. I also have a super cute Frenchie named Ginger.

Oh! And here’s some of the work type info you might be interested in (or not):

I earned my Doctorate in Psychology from Nova Southeastern University in Ft. Lauderdale in 2006. I completed my internship with the New Jersey Veterans Affairs Hospital before that in 2005. Previously I have held a license in New York and Massachusetts. Now, I’m a Licensed Psychologist in the State of Texas, License# 36897.

During and post graduate school, I have had the opportunity to work in a maximum-security prison, in various settings administering neuropsychological tests, inpatient hospitals, with war veterans, in residential treatment, and in private practice.

Bringing Healing To You

I have pulled together all that I have experienced and learned over those many years and built a foundation of therapy based on the mind and body working together to grow and heal.

Working with me you can expect education about the role of your brain and body on your mood. You will also gain a significant understanding of my three pillars: sleep, nutrition, and exercise.

Through exploration, you will not only have a better understanding of yourself, you will learn how to continue being insightful and actionable when challenges come your way. It is my goal for you to walk away with all the skills and understanding necessary to carry you through your life.
